The one Kenyan that I look up to and who has the most influence in most of what I do, say or act is Ms. Muthoni Wanyeki, the Executive Director of Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) and the former Executive Director of the African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET). She has the moral authority and Intellectual capacity that warrant respect.
There are many other Kenyans with similar Strengths in character and who who deserve mentioning, and I will be adding onto this list as more Kenyans rise to take their country back from the corrupt political elite.
Kenya’s contemporary heroes are as follows:
- Muthoni Wanyeki
- Maina Kiai
- Mwalimu Mati
- Koki Muli
- Rachel Shabesh
- Njeri Kabeberi
- Hassan Omar Hassan
- Louis Otieno
- Harun Ndubi
- John Githongo
- Njoki Ndung’u
- Prof. Makau Mutua
- Philo Ikonya
- Gladwell Otieno
- Mrs. Kones; second wife to the late Kipkalia Kones.
