Still Proud to be Kenyan.

The Man of the Century.

The Man of the Century.

I am proud of the achievement of this great son of our country, Kenya. He has been the epitome of everything we were not earlier this year in our general elections, and what we have never been in our multi party Era.

I do not expect any special privilege from his administration to Kenya, for I understand that his responsibility is first to his country.

But whatever the future holds, he has become the hope that he professed. He has embodied the dream of Martin Luther King Jr. He has inspired the change that we need, especially  here in Kenya as we grapple with our post election violence fiasco.

For me, he has done more than enough, and for that, I truly thank him.

Kenya should be ashamed first for the way we acted earlier this year, for the man whom we have christened our greatest export, is a stark contrast to the way we are as a people, in light of what we did to each other after the elections, and the divisive politics that preceded it.

We should then be proud because his election means that it is possible to transcend ethnic political and party politics for the sake of our country and posterity.

  1. We as Kenyans should emulate the example that Obama has set. We have our own differences that we should all respect. But above all, we are one people, one nation!
