“Any Given Sunday” – Al Pacino’s inspirational speech

Filed under: Life Lessons — Marvin K. Tumbo @ 7:20 am

This is what some call poetry in motion. It is the most moving speech that I ever heard and which I stumbled on before watching the Movie. I used it during my years in AIESEC Egerton and still continue to derive the same satisfaction from it to date. It is what has inspired many and something I recommend to those close to me, those I counsel and those I mentor. It is the moving speech that transcended the movie it was delivered in. I hope you enjoy it and learn from it as much as I did. And if you need a copy, follow the vodpod link.

  1. Hi Marvin *smile* I just listened to the above…what a good actor he is! To be honest I don’t think it was acting…I guess if you believe something you wouldn’t need to act passionately about it.

Now Marvin…don’t laugh but (I’m sitting here laughing lol) no seriously don’t laugh…I have the whole series of Xena Warrior Princess on DVD. Now people make fun of me because I’m so into it and ask me why? The reason is…apart from a woman giving it some…the episodes often feature something that is really profound. For instance…one episode went back in time showing Xena’s dark side. In it she had a chinese lady as her mentor…while teaching Xena she told her to remember the following:

To conquer others is to have power, to conquer yourself is to know the way!

Wow that had such an impact on me at the time! In fact many episodes featured some kind of wisdom so hats off to the writers!

Here’s a couple of my own if you’re interested *smile*

Freedom is attained when the truth is adopted!

You can’t SEE what is wrong until you KNOW what is right!

Walking the path of Enlightenment is really about walking with your ‘Self’ until you become so comfortable, you can walk with anyone!

When Love walks in, Doubt walks out!

I’m always writing something…I’m compelled to lol

    Anyway, take care

    Peace Love Light and Laughter

  2. Hi Naomi…

I wouldn’t laugh. In fact, I will myself watch a cow graze if it teaches me something profound. And I have increasingly come to see that profound things come from the most expected places.

I love the quotes. Especially “Walking the path of Enlightenment is really about walking with your ‘Self’ until you become so comfortable, you can walk with anyone!” Simply Beautiful.

I think I am approaching the level of walking with anyone. I am not yet there, but close.

    Thanks fro Stopping By…

    Enlightening comment as always.

    Take Care too :)

Peace Love Life and Laughter *smile*

PS; I was so taken by this salutation that I use it nowadays in almost every mail or comment. I hope you do not mind.

  3. Hi Marvin *smile*…I absolutely do not mind! To be honest I feel pretty much honoured!

I love writing so much and if anything I write gives people just a little bit of pleasure or even makes them think again about something…I’m happy. That’s motivation enough for me *smile*

You always give positive comments…thanks for that!

As to my ‘Walking with yourself’ quote…I too am ‘fairly’ comfortable in my skin…it’s everyone else’s skin I have a problem with! lolol…just kidding…sorry I can’t help it lmbo < laughing my butt off

Peace Love Light and of course Laughter as always
